We have been providing legal and business process services to our clients for over two decades. In that time, we have seen trends come and go as well as quite a few bigger changes as the legal market has responded to global and economic events.
But perhaps the most significant impact has been the way technology has transformed legal work. For example, lawyers of a certain generation may remember being sent to windowless “data rooms” as trainees to sit and pour over paper files as part of disclosure or due diligence processes! Today, e-discovery can review documents in a fraction of the time it used to take to do it manually.
The current buzz around AI (perhaps more accurately described as a mixture of awe and apprehension!) is shaking-up lots of industries, not just law. There are unique challenges to using AI in the legal sector but it is clear things are going to change because of AI. Tasks such as business development and marketing, where lots of generic content needs to be produced, may be obvious areas where AI will play a larger role.
Getting creative?
Some of our clients are experimenting with creating more engaging formats for their training and marketing materials and again, advances in technology make this possible (and cost effective) to do. Delivering training through webinars has become accepted as the norm. Podcasts seem to be taking over the world and animations can really help relay messages in a faster moving world to groups for whom a long winded, paper brochure has no allure.
Technology enables us to be more creative but not every lawyer is skilled in the visual arts! We can help make your content more visually appealing – whether that’s a slide or an animation, our creative and design team are highly skilled in just this type of work – allowing your lawyers to get on with practicing law.
Just as businesses constantly evolve, technology never stands still. We are never complacent about what our clients need from us and we’re confident our services are fit to support your law firm into the 21st century, and beyond, whatever that may bring!
