We take our social responsibility seriously and do our best to identify projects where our input will benefit our local community.
Training Scheme – previously disadvantaged communities
We train staff from previously disadvantaged communities. We subsidise a project in the Helderberg where people from previously disadvantaged communities can receive free transcription training. If they reach an appropriate level of expertise, we either employ them or assist with placement in the marketplace.
Food Scheme
We contribute to a food package scheme where under privileged members of our community receive food parcels on a monthly basis.
Mustard Seed – Zimbabwe Project
Mustard Seed is a not-for-profit-Christian organisation with a vision of “Bringing hope to the hopeless”. They recently launched the ‘Zimbabwe Project’. Recognising the need for basic living essentials by millions of Zimbabweans, the project delivers food supplies from South Africa to a distribution base in Harare. The Zimbabwean government allows $350 worth of supplies to be taken into the country per person at one time. Mustard Seed decided to maximise this restriction by filling vehicles with as many people and taking as much food as possible across the border.
In their last project 2 tons of food was distributed amongst starving families from a church base in Harare. The supplies consisted mainly of 25 kg bags of maize meal which will feed a family of 6 for a month. Some of this included baby formula for sick and malnourished orphaned infants at the Dani Childrens Home.
SPCA and PETS
We are involved in projects run by PETS and the SPCA where abused animals are placed in homes and properly cared for.
